Electoral Reforms

5 12 2008

Mathematics is an ultimate answer which can make our prevalent electoral system of governance more effective benefiting the entire world.

Let’s split 50% in 3 parts. 61.8%, 38.2%. (23.6% can be a side option.)

Level1-We increase the absolute majority from 50% to 61.8% maintaining 5 year term.-on the threshold of “Very confident” level. However this wouldn’t happen soon if the trust of people in present affairs is low.

We create a relative majority 38.2%. The geometric mean of 61.8 & 38.2 is 50(Our nowadays absolute majority). Here we can create a government which would have a term as far as the heads decide and allow. Equivalent is to install 24×7 secure internet polling booths accessible to the public to vote or devote proving majority to higher of above 38.2%.

Critical majority 23.6%-In some states this can be implemented subject to relative majority so that all groups a better chance.

I intend to fame every society to become rich in serving humanity. Comments & criticisms are most welcome.

Carry all refreshingly

1 11 2008

I have few criteria on which the latest cars are being designed and innovated to share with the discerning YOU.

The moment of inertia is greater if your car has bigger wheels. More so if the wheels are heavier. Good when the KE of braking would be converted into PE(Potential Energy) & stores. Drag is being reduced by reducing the number of wheels to 3-funny isn’t it-ulta socho-the car has 2 wheels on front and one on back-lol.

Battery is a major field of research in major companies so better-eyes.

In today’s situation for the crammed traffic and bad roads, you need a car with at least 12″ road clearance. 7″ in most cases don’t suffice and practically even a 4″ high brick/stone can strike the base.

WagonR is most successful because of less width but small wheels. The RVM can ensure a better reversal. The tall RVM of wagonR should have been in other cars too.

Aerodynamic shapes are good for high speeds to reduce air drag. Elliptical and fish shaped of verna has been excellent in mid-level segment. A major car company is seamless integrating these features which can flash Indian market in 2 years(best my wishes).

Cars are also being designed with just over 300 components instead of usual 5000 or so. Would love comments-good or other-wise. No doubt cars can be one person front too-easy maneuvering and road-ability.

So next time you come tired after a drive, read this post once more. I am sure it will change your perspective on cars.

One more point-buying a car with automatic transmission is not a bad option-even a WagonR has it and we never knew.

The mystery of the aesthetic is the surreal golden section. Beauty is yet an array of wondering & wandering confusion.

The golden ratio can be recognised as a threshold of 1 and 2 entities. The interpretation of conflict in this gives rise to the concept of beauty or aesthetics.

धूप-Sunshine

1 09 2008

Earn money by investing in property.

Hunting for a nice property. Don’t decide by just an amazing appearance.

Where? Which town & colony? Very tough decision indeed.

Narrow plots-not good. Why-as compared to wider counterparts, even without a side alley, lose a lot of space in circulation. Go in for a lesser area but wider plots. Pooling in a house dividing into condos is a great idea!

Finishes and specifications-Ensure the previous owner provides a list of certified specifications and completion documents besides other legal documents. Consult technocrats.

See how well it gets the winter sun in and summer out. Renting and leasing such properties would be less frustrating so more $. Avoid houses shrouded in north-sloping notches.

Try properties with clubbed services and utilities like toilets and kitchens etc. Separate wet areas have lesser maintainable costs.

Try buying framed structures instead of load bearing if you are planning a alteration next 10 years for duplex or rentals etc.

Feel the air inside. Also ensure that it is not such way that water could possible creep in during heavy rains. People do forget this crucial aspect.

Have a feedback from the previous owner /tenent about what problems he faced.

Specially, the bedrooms shouldn’t face a road or rail traffic or airplane noise. Also avoid those properties with cross roads in a way that vehicular headlights fall on windows.

See the details, should not have ant, mole hills etc.

See the potential of surrounding plots and if it can be projected into a holiday resort etc.

Earning the real money-Please consult your technocrat and attorney. Land use plans. Design your house in a way that the first phase (on a side could be where you dwell) and expand yourself . Check out for my future blogs and posts for the same.

How to hire freelancers and create an asset out of them.

2 08 2008

TrainImage by ( Krikit ) via Flickr

Going to freelance sites and expecting a good work is what is desired. Here’s a list of how you can hire:

1. Know what you want to achieve in work. Put down points and make an estimate of how many hours the job can be done.

2.The posting shall consist of identifiable sub-works. Ask your freelance site how these sub-works can be posted-whether as a single project or multiple.

3.The best way to identify core competencies of providers is to draw circles and list the prospective providers. If the circles overlap, it’s good for interactive co-ordination.

4.Start with a small job-$10, then $25, then $100 and so on. Sample an assignment and give a detailed description of what is the goal of the project and technically, what and what not is ti be done. Assigning $10 job to 3 prospective freelancers is not a bad choice-you can always catch up with the faster one.

5.Be clear in identifying deliverables. If you miss a deliverable and you presumably ask it for granted, the freelancer can sway you towards his range and press you for inflated amounts.

6.Use freelancing for services first and then for goods.

7.Keep records of messaging on website, enabling mediation. Emailing and chatting may not be a good choice. Unrecorded phone conversations aren’t since it is very difficult to retrieve memory based commitments.

8.Walk through orientation videos on websites, understand payment systems & policies and chat in the forums for subject related queries.

9.Asking for a paid 10 minute demo ($5) to every provider is not a bad choice.

10.Go clear on the size and type of deliverable. e.g. a walk through with 240×480 pixel resolution 16 frames per second. Movie length 10 seconds. Number of revision sessions-3. Time required-1day. Budget $100.

11. Don’t hesitate to ask for the time sheets in advance if you anticipate that the work would prolong.

Remember, ask full questions and answer to the provider’s queries, than coaxing him to ask reactive ones “What is your qualification?”,”Where are you located?”,”Hey hey”, ” R U there?” or any question which is described on provider’s profile. You might miss out a good, quick & economical provider.

Remember, a freelancer doing a good work truly requires $25 per (billable) hour to cover his expenses and save for his future. If it is a company or consortium it can be more than $200 per hour.

I wish you a happy posting and benefiting.

Choosing the right apartment

2 08 2008
Apartment blocks, Kolkata

It’s booming, mushrooming and raining houses in India.

After a lot of queries by the discerning flat buyers I would share few architectural tips on selection of right apartment. Because buying the right apartment would not only reduce your energy cost, but also fetch you greater sale/rental returns. No harms taking a measuring/sonic tape with you.

Avoid flats in the vicinity of aerodromes/railway lines, main roads.

Apartment having decks more of south along with some east sun is best-no matter where the entry is from. Ensure there is no pond, river, sea in that direction.

Buy apartments in the block which have a lot of trees and greenery in the west or a little north.

If you are planning to buy lower floors(4th or 5th). Make sure that they, especially the bedrooms, are not near the main entrance gates. For higher floors, ensure that the parapets should be solid (3′6″-4′ high)

Ensure the ceiling should be at least 9′ high and beams etc shouldn’t be visible. If visible you’ll have to shell in some interior makeover costs.

Try finding ones which have contiguous toilets. This entails maximum open views and ventilation.

See the drawing room. It should have 2-3 adjoining walls so that even if it is too small, it can accommodate maximum perimeter of sofas.

The dining and the kitchen are always near and it is like a lobby. Check that it should at least have a 5′ and 7′ adjoining walls so that a dining table can be well placed without cramming the chairs.

The bedrooms should be in such a way that you walk minimum to go to the wardrobe, toilet and balcony. If you are a right hander then look for a place for the study table so that light enters from the left. Also TV should be in place left or right of the light source.

Checkout for a small latticed drying balcony in NW or SE.

Your entry should be as near to lift but as far from noise from neighbor’s transit. (Former adds value by minimizing vestigial area).

It is not necessary that flats having a 90 degree angle are the most functional.

You are investing your hard earned money into a one time house. Act wisely. Consult your local realtor and technocrat for further advice.

Dear Young Architects,

Most of us are really skeptical about what should we do and where should we go after college days. Some take up design work, while others like site work more.

It’s a matter of your core-what you decide. You can be really fond of making a max model, or relish talking with others in clubs. It is really difficult when you look at totalitarian aspects of architecture.

Draw a circle on a tracing paper. & try to lay up various aspects of & related to architecture. You can branch any node which is away from architecture.

It is something similar to mind mapping tools.

Like Design>Modeling>PS Envo>Permit Drawing>Working Drawings> Site>Accounts etc.

Try to arrange your colleagues circles with you and see how they lap. Interact more with your colleagues in trio. Try to find that common triangle.

This kind of collaborative interdependent graph will also filter out physical and mental strain factors if you form a consortium later on.

Happy doodling.

Optimising the Search Engine called “Life”

Utopian flying machines of the previous centur...

God is a principle. The moment god takes over us when we surrender, we focus on making our business more for the benefit of the end user.

We plan and earn money for our coming generations. Why, we love our kids because we see ourselves in them-the self image in our subconscious when we used to be toddlers-we can’t recall ourselves when we were in front of that mirror. So we prepare the edited version of our path for them.

There is a lot of suffering in some countries like Africa. So we have to think about humanity too. We realize we can’t be everything. So, we find out small core competencies like we look at our kids and relay the work cycle-like our employees , freelancers and corporates. We are the purpose of their business and rightly expect that we aren’t outsiders as well.

That’s how we shortlist the providers. That’s how we look at our suppliers. We have to segregate essentials and luxuries if we want to create utopia.

Relationships start just the way micro blogs so. We initially get paid in differentials and then trust too exponents. There is a definite way to optimize work/pay. So we remain down to earth and money works for us-it is not our master. And some day we are really rich-materially and spiritually.
